Trails of Tucson is a project of CNR Consulting. You don't need an account to use it, and we don't run ads or sell anything you send us. This page says what the site keeps and why.

Reading the site

The trail pages are plain web pages. We don't add analytics or tracking scripts, and we don't set cookies for visitors. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles the traffic and may keep its own server logs.

Trail suggestions

The suggest-a-trail form asks for a trail name and area, plus an optional note and email. We save what you send and email a copy to the maintainer so they know it arrived. Suggestions aren't published. If you leave an email, only the maintainer sees it, and it is only there so they can reply about your suggestion. We won't add you to a mailing list.

Photo uploads

If you upload a photo, we save the photo with the trail, the date taken, and the caption you give. We remove location data and other hidden details from the file before it's saved. A photo isn't public until a maintainer approves it, and the maintainer gets an email notice when one arrives. If a photo is rejected, the image file is deleted.

Spam protection

The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is sending them. Turnstile gets your IP address for that check. We also count form sends by IP address in 15 minute windows so one visitor can't flood the forms. Those counts aren't tied to what you sent.

Maintainer sign-in

The maintainer page sets one cookie when the maintainer signs in, so the session stays open. Visitors never get that cookie.
